MALONE —Winter Window, a captivating 2D-inspired installation by local artist Liza Labarge, opens in Malone.
Located at 428 East Main Street, this exciting project is part of the Windows on Main Initiative, spearheaded by The Thrive Project to transform Malone’s downtown spaces into vibrant platforms for community engagement and artistic expression.
This initiative is made possible through the generous support of JCEO, The Thrive Project, Downtown Artist Cellar, Adirondack for Kids, The Maguire Family, and Focal Point. Additional funding has been provided by the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
After weeks of preparation, the Winter Window is now open for the community to enjoy this holiday season.

Looking Ahead: A Children’s Workshop
In the spring, the space at 428 East Main Street will once again be reimagined through a children’s workshop.
This event will engage young artists in creating a new installation, continuing the mission of the Windows on Main Initiative to inspire creativity and bring art into public spaces.
Transforming Downtown
The Windows on Main Initiative revitalizes Malone by transforming vacant downtown windows into inspiring art installations. It supports local artists, uplifts businesses, and fosters community pride. The Winter Window is the first of many planned installations for 2025, with more exciting transformations to come.
Through the creativity of local artists, this initiative reimagines empty storefronts as vibrant showcases of art.
Liza Labarge’s Winter Window demonstrates how art can invigorate public spaces and strengthen community connections.
