WCTE PBS, the only television station in a 75-mile radius of Cookeville, is set to broadcast an array of local holiday programs this season.
The season opener is Live Green Tennessee: A Holiday Cooking Special. The special will follow Melinda Keifer and Grada Casey as they prepare a festive meal and share cherished family traditions. It will air on Thanksgiving night, with additional showings throughout November and December.
“This holiday season, we wanted to give back to the community that supports us all year long, and we did this by making local programming that reflects our communities,” Avery Hutchins, WCTE president and CEO, said.
In addition, to celebrate the festivities in surrounding communities, a new program Highland’s Holiday will debut on Dec. 19, featuring a series of encore episodes throughout the rest of the holiday season.
Lastly, viewers can anticipate an encore presentation of last year’s Spirits of Holiday Tradition, which delves into three holiday customs and how local families weave these traditions into their celebrations.
Viewers can enjoy these shows through streaming, on-demand services, local cable providers, and over-the-air broadcasts via antenna.
“We are thrilled to introduce these unique programs, and we believe that every story will ignite the holiday spirit within us all.” Hutchins said.
