VALDOSTA — For the second day in a row, commercial flights to and from Valdosta Regional Airport are being snarled by a worldwide computer software glitch.
Delta Airlines — the only commercial passenger carrier serving Valdosta Regional Airport — reported Saturday at noon that of its two flights from Atlanta to Valdosta, the earlier one — with a scheduled 1:50 p.m. departure — had been delayed until at least 4:21 p.m. A later flight at 8 p.m. had not yet been affected.
For flights to Atlanta from Valdosta, the 6:10 a.m. flight was cancelled, while the 3:40 p.m. flight had been pushed back to at least 6:07 p.m., Delta said on its website.
Atlanta is the only destination Delta flies to from Valdosta.
The software snarl involved a flawed update for Microsoft Windows, and is not believed to be connected to security or terrorist concerns, said CrowdStrike, the company behind the update.
Airlines were among the most high-profile businesses hit by the tech trouble. Thousands of flights from many carriers were grounded worldwide.
