ST. PETER — Two suspects are in custody following an armed robbery-vehicle theft early Saturday morning at Gustavus Adolphus College.
St. Peter Police Chief Matt Grochow said Plymouth police arrested them in the stolen 2011 Buick LaCrosse at an unspecified time near a Plymouth Walgreens store.
Passenger Tayvius Sorgartz Martin, 18, had last used Maple Grove for his address, Grochow said. Martin is facing first-degree aggravated robbery, the chief said.
Star Wesley Sommerville, 19, of Plymouth, also was in the vehicle, a Plymouth Police Department spokesperson said. Sommerville was booked in to Hennepin County Jail for charges regarding stolen property.
Grochow said the robbery victim is a Gustavus student. She was not injured.
St. Peter Police Department’s social media said the victim stated a tall, thin male had brandished a rifle-like firearm during the incident.
More information is to be released as it becomes available, St. Peter police said.
