Trinity Disposal Service will mark its 10th year of service with what the company is calling a “Trash Bash.”
The festival-like event will be open to the public but according to owner Hunter Williams is the company’s way of showing appreciation for its customer base.
“The customers mean everything,” Williams said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to get out every morning and every day to do what we do. We’re really, really thankful for everyone over the years.”
The Trash Bash will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m at The Perfect Place, a venue space at 514 Fleming St., suite 3, in Dalton.
The Trash Bash will feature activities, games and inflatables, as well as food items available for purchase, including authentic Mexican food, lemonade and local vendors such as Chatsworth’s Couture Cotton Candy.
Williams said there will be several giveaways, which will include shirts, hats and other items.
Trinity Disposal Service serves both residential and commercial customers in the area. Almost a decade ago, Williams began the current iteration of Trinity Disposal Service when he bought the business from his neighbor, Chris Johnson.
“Back then, it was really just Johnson and one truck,” Williams said. “It was just a lot smaller at that time.”
Now, Trinity Disposal Service owns 18 trucks and has 23 employees, including mechanics, drivers, an office manager, a dispatch manager and “slingers,” which Williams said is another name for the workers who sling trash on the back of the trucks.
“We’re trying to provide jobs to the community in some sort of fashion. It has been a little slow, but we are providing good, stable jobs for families in the community,” Williams said.
“It started out around 550 customers 10 years ago and now it’s estimated to be about 10,000 customers,” Williams said. “And we’re servicing in four counties — Gordon, Murray, Whitfield and Catoosa.”
Trinity Disposal has also branched out to include a trio of services, including residential curbside cans, front-end load dumpsters and large, construction roll-off dumpsters.
“We’re proud to serve the community with well-maintained equipment, and we pride ourselves on being on time and punctual,” he said. “We love what we’re doing with the community and their feedback. We’re proud that we’re able to provide this service for them, and the Trash Bash is just going to be our way of saying ‘Thank you.'”
