FROSTBURG — Three Frostburg State soccer players earned All-Atlantic Region selections from the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Commission on Tuesday.
In women’s soccer, Cat Smith was a first-team selection while Carly Gillette earned second-team honors.
Smith was this year’s Mountain East Conference (MEC) Defensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-MEC selection.
Smith played a team-high 1,708 minutes leading the Bobcat defense that allowed 12 goals in 21 games.
She scored five goals with two assists and took a team-high 42 shots.
The Bobcats earned a third consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament.
Gillette was also a first-team All-MEC selection after finishing second on the team with seven goals.
She took 35 shots across 1,176 minutes played.
In men’s soccer, Carlos Quintero Rivas was a second-team selection.
He was the first Bobcat to earn All-Region honors since 2019.
Quintero Rivas was a first-team All-MEC selection with 24 points and 11 goals.
He was third in the conference in goals and top 10 with 37 shots.
