Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Crossville partnered with Cumberland Good Samaritans, Simple Life Church and Toys for Tots to provide angel tree gifts to 50 children whose parents are enrolled at TCAT.
Students were grateful for the show of support for their families as they work toward entering the workforce. One student, whose name and program has been withheld, asked if there were a way to thank the donors who provided gifts for her children.
“I’m very much struggling and I’m trying to make a better life for my boys,” she said. “I would very much love to text or call or write a letter or something to thank them.”
Jena DeMars, student services and marketing coordinator for the campus, said, “I am certain almost every TCAT student who asked for angel tree assistance this year probably feels the same as this student describes. This is an example of how the college strives to serve families and why it matters. Thank you for making this happen.”
DeMars estimates this year’s angel tree program was the largest at the school’s campus.
