LAVALE — The Taste of Civility event is making a return Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. at the LaVale Library.
Presented by Choose Civility: Allegany County and its partners, the event aims to build on the success of its previous celebrations in 2018 and 2019.
The Taste of Civility celebrates Allegany County’s cultural diversity using music, song and storytelling. Local presenters will share their holiday traditions, highlighting diverse cultures and ethnicities. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, share their family traditions and learn about the enriching cultures that make up the community.
By promoting mutual respect across cultural differences, the Taste of Civility seeks to create an environment where everyone can thrive and encourages recognition of the positive contributions diverse cultures bring to enrich the lives of those in Allegany County.
The event is co-hosted by the Allegany County Library System, Allegany County NAACP Branch 7007, Allegany College of Maryland, Allegany Commission for Women, Friends of the LaVale Library and Frostburg State University.
