Cold Springs’ and Good Hope’s varsity girls will head to Birmingham next week needing just two wins to capture a state championship.
The Class 2A No. 4 Eagles (27-4) are back in the Final Four for a second straight year after dominating the Central Regional Tournament.
It’s the eighth Final Four for Cold Springs under longtime coach Tammy West, who has led the program to four state titles in her tenure.
The Class 4A No. 1 Raiders, meanwhile, are returning to Birmingham for the first time since the 2011-12 campaign.
Good Hope (31-2) delivered an impressive showing at the Northwest Regional Tournament and is currently riding a 17-game win streak.
Coach Justin Aby has guided the program to a 92-10 record since the start of the 2021-22 season.

Opponent: No. 1 Mars Hill Bible (23-6)
When: Monday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
Other Semifinal: No. 7 Ider (21-11) vs. Luverne (26-5), Monday at 6 p.m.
Championship: Friday, March 1 at 9 a.m.
Quick Hitter: Mars Hill Bible downed Cold Springs 69-47 last year to earn its first state title since 2005 and eighth overall.
Class 4A
Team: No. 1 Good Hope (31-2)
Opponent: No. 2 Prattville Christian (27-7)
When: Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
Other Semifinal: No. 5 Anniston (27-4) vs. T.R. Miller (23-4)
Championship: Friday, March 1 at 4 p.m.
Quick Hitter: Prattville Christian has won three straight state titles — one in Class 4A in 2023 and two in Class 3A in 2021 and 2022.
