NCCS Rifle outshoots Chaminade
CHAMPLAIN — The NCCS Cougars rifle team continue their winning streak with a 1147-1078 victory over the Chaminade Flyers. The 1147 is a new school record, they had four of their shooters break the 280 mark in a match for the first time. The Cougars were led by Holly Visconti who fired a 293. NCCS has now won 18 matches in a row since starting their program a year ago, 15-0 in ADK League Matches. Last week they defeated Cambridge 1126 to 899 for their 15th straight league match. Next Tuesday the team will shoot against Central Square who came in second place last year at the State Championships.
Tickets on sale for ECAC Championship
LAKE PLACID — Tickets are now on sale for the ECAC Hockey Men’s Championship Tournament to be played March 22-23, 2024, at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid. The final four ECAC teams will meet in the 1980 Herb Brooks Arena for a single-elimination tournament with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I tournament and the Scott M. Whitelaw Cup on the line.
March 22 will feature two semifinal games before the championship game which is held on the 23rd.
The 12-team ECAC men’s hockey tournament begins March 8-9 with a single-game format, followed by best-of-three quarterfinal matchups March 15-17. The first two rounds are played at respective schools based on seeding in the tournament. The four teams that qualify for the semifinal round earn a spot in Lake Placid, with the winner receiving an automatic entry into the 16-team NCAA tournament that determines the national champion.
