MOULTRIE – The grand opening of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority’s Community Market will be Saturday, April 6.
The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., located on the Recreation Authority’s campus at 1020 Fourth St. S.W. A grand opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m.
More than a dozen local vendors with be set up with handmade and homemade goods and there will be “Rollin’ Rec” activities for the kids. There will also be door prizes and other giveaways.
The Community Market will be an ongoing event, every Saturday, with a spring season from the beginning of April to the end of June and a fall season from the beginning of August through the end of October.
Community Engagement Coordinator Connie Fritz stated in an earlier press release, “The goal of the Community Market is to give vendors an ongoing opportunity to sell locally sourced fresh fruits and vegetables, home grown meats and other goodies, jewelry, arts and crafts, and clothing.”
