MANKATO — Brogan Madson had 20 points, six rebounds, seven assists and five steals to lead Mankato East past Delano 84-37 in a nonconference boys basketball game Saturday at the East gym.
Ganden Gosch added 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, and Amari Nobles scored 14 points. Braden Petzel had 10 points and six rebounds.
East (8-1) plays Thursday at home against Rochester Mayo.
Le Sueur-Henderson 73, Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson 56: Brody Berndt scored 18 points in the Giants’ nonconference loss at Byron.
Joe Lewis scored 13 points, and John Karels added 11 points. Kaden Graff and Nolan Weber both scored 10 points.
LSH hosts Mankato Loyola on Tuesday.
Sleepy Eye 71, Nicollet 50: Keegan Hulke had 17 points and eight rebounds in Nicollet’s nonconference loss at Sleepy Eye.
Carson Kettner added 16 points, and A.J. Kramer grabbed 10 rebounds.
Waseca 71, Marshall 52: Deron Russell had 26 points and 10 rebounds for Waseca in a Big South Conference win at Marshall.
Damaruis Russell had 15 points and nine assists, and Isaac Feldkamp scored 11 points.
Waseca (11-0) plays at home Tuesday against St. Clair.
Hockey
Mankato East boys 2, Rochester Mayo 0: Jack Hansen scored a shorthanded goal as the Cougars won the Big Nine Conference game at All Seasons Arena.
Indy Ragan also scored a goal, and Evan Slama had two assists.
Brody Kunst made 22 saves for the shutout.
Northfield 5, Mankato West boys 1: Grady Hatlestad scored a first-period goal for the Scarlets in a Big Nine loss at All Seasons Arena.
Brodie Cox and Keaton Dorze assisted on the goal.
Mason Schreiber made 18 saves for West, which had 15 shots on goal.
Girls basketball
Sleepy Eye 67, Nicollet 49: Leah Bode scored 14 points for Nicollet in a nonconference loss at Sleepy Eye.
Zoie Rengstorf, Cheyenne Klockziem and Savannah Klockziem each scored eight points for Nicollet (5-4).
Belle Plaine 70, St. Clair 65: Brooklyn Meng made five 3-pointers and finished with 25 points in St. Clair’s nonconference loss at Belle Plaine.
Brooklyn Hinze scored 17 points, making 10 of 10 free throws, and Aubree Mathiowetz scored 14 points.
United South Central 86, Madelia 58: Taylor Schroeder scored a team-record 36 points as the Rebels won a nonconference game at Madelia.
Olivia Bungum had 24 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Ivy O’Rourke scored 16 points. Alivia Bruegger added eight points and 12 rebounds.
Wrestling
Central Raider Invitational: Trey Richards (121 pounds) and Keegan Kuball (285) both finished first in their weight classes to lead Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton at the Norwood Young America tournament.
Richards and Kuball each won three matches by fall.
Carson Petry (127) and Brady Murphy (139) both finished second, and Brenden Masso (114) and Avery Fall (189) each took third.
Gymnastics
New Prague Invitational: Rylie Hansen scored 38.250 points to win the all-around and lead Mankato East to a second-place finish at nine-team meet.
New Prague took first at 145.150, while the Cougars scored 142.350. Mankato West placed fifth at 136.950.
Hansen took first on vault (9.850), uneven parallel bars (9.60) and balance beam (9.55).
Teammate Aubrey Britz placed fourth in the all-around at 35.85, placing second on beam at 9.30.
West’s Grace Jacobson took six in the all-around at 35.40, with teammate Charley Fernandez in seventh at 35.30.
