MESICK — Josh Gray’s tenure at Buckley started out with a bang.
Landon Kulawiak kicked off his boys basketball season with 32 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 60-37 Bears win at Mesick.
“Landon wants to prove he’s the best player in northern Michigan,” first-year Buckey coach Gray said of the junior guard. “He is taking it personally.”
Carter Williams added 15 points, six boards and four blocks in the season-opening victory for Buckley, with plays Ellsworth in its home opener Friday.
Tyler Hall led the Bulldogs (0-1) with 10 points and Landon Hall added eight.
