BISMARCK — The Salt Fork girls basketball team had made sure that everything had been going its way all season.
On Saturday, that did not happen as the Storm lost its first game of the season in a 45-41 loss to Benton Central in the finals of the Blue Devil Classic at Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin High School.
Alexa Jamison had 18 points and was named tournament MVP, while Brycie Hird had 12 points, All-Tournament selection Sailor Pacot had six points and Bracie Hird added five points.
In the third place game, North Vermillion beat Oakwood 41-36. Nora Thomann had 13 points for the Falcons, while Kera Dunham had nine and Cadence Dunham added eight. Caydence Vermillion and Gracie Hanner each had 11 for the Comets, while Rylee Wright and Mady Nicoson each had four.
Host BHRA settled for sixth after a 33-26 loss to Unity. Alivia Reifsteck had 11 and Draycee Nelson added nine.
Armstrong-Potomac took seventh after beating Westville 55-18. Ashlyn Ackerman had 16 points for the Trojans, while Kayla Crull had 10, Chesney Franzen had six and Elle Jameson and Makenna Ackerman each added five.
Gwen Bennett had nine points for the Tigers, while Lani Gondzur added six.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm lost a close ninth-place game to Attica 35-34. Addisen Ellis had 13 for the Buffaloes, while Madi Spesard had six and Addi Spesard scored five.
