VEEDERSBURG, Ind. — The Fountain Central football team had a big challenge in its season opener on Friday.
The Mustangs took on Southmont and was down only 14-7 at one point in the first quarter, but the Mounties would run off 28 points in a row before Fountain Central could score again in a 42-14 defeat.
Dakota Willoughby scored the first touchdown for Fountain Central in the first quarter while a touchdown pass in the fourth brought in the other score.
The Mustangs will try to regroup next week when they travel to Crawfordsville.
