WATSEKA — The Hoopeston Area boys basketball team were able to take third place at the Watseka Holiday Tournament on Tuesday with a 56-47 win over Iroquois West.
Owen Root had 23 points for the Cornjerkers and was named to the All-Tournament team, while Wyatt Eisenmann had 10 points and was also named to the All-Tournament team, Kendrick Sigerill had nine and Trenton Montez and Mason Rush each had seven points.
The Cornjerkers will next play on Jan. 2 against Oakwood.
