The People’s Choice Award Winners received recognition during the Fun and Wine Friday Reception Dec. 1 at the Plateau Creative Arts Center.
The event was emceed by Art Circle Library’s Administrative Assistant and Art Guild Trustee Wayne Schobel, and talented guitarist, Al Bonnis, provided musical entertainment.
Forty-six artists entered 93 pieces of artwork for the People’s Choice Show. The public and Art Guild members voted for their favorite works of art displayed in the gallery throughout the month of November, with 2450 votes counted for the show.
The following pieces were awarded with cash prizes from sponsor Atlas Real Estate, and hand-crafted award ribbons created by members Debbie Kersh and Michalanne Sloan:
First place: Twyla Marti’s fiber artwork “Where the Crawdads Sing”
Second Place: Manuel Marti’s glass mosaic, “Back Streets”
Third place: Eric Buechel’s watercolor portrait, “Katherine”
Fourth place: Linda Farber’s pen and ink drawing, “Life Partners”
Fifth place: Donna Cronce’s colored pencil drawing, “Rescued”
All awarded entries will be on display through December. The artwork of featured artist Jerry Knight, special members’ exhibit, “New Art from Old,” as well as monthly Art Guild members’ gallery artwork exhibit will be on display through January.
The next Fun and Wine Friday Reception will take place at the Arts Center Feb. 2, featuring the artwork of “The Three Dames,” with Special Member’s Exhibit, “Found Objects.” The public is invited to attend.
The Arts Center is located at 451 Lakeview Dr. Winter hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. beginning Dec. 24 and running through March 31.
