They may be your New England Patriots, but this Sunday at 4 p.m. there may be more of a distraction if you’re a really big NFL fan.
The Patriots will be shown live at 4:25 p.m. on CBS. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia Eagles will be on around the same time on FOX. But the Main Event, the real Game of the Week (or really maybe the year) and possibly a Super Bowl preview — Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions, 4:25 p.m. — will not be shown locally because the Patriots are playing on the same CBS network.
The Lions are arguably the best team in the NFL and have won 11 straight. Bills quarterback Josh Allen is probably MVP of the league. That game should be prime time.
As for Week 14, it was another very good week for “I Beat Burt” players as 55 of the 354 entries picked 10 or more wins out of the 12 games played over the weekend.
I had a pretty good week, with nine correct picks. But not good enough, apparently.
The first tiebreaker was the Kansas City Chiefs point total (19), as Patriots were on a bye. The second tiebreaker (the amount of correct selections) was also needed.
All of the T-shirt winners were within five points of the Chiefs’ point total and had at least 10 or 11 wins when needed.
