The Oneonta football team used an all-around effort to defeat Sidney 31-8 at home on Friday.
Chase Jervis ran for 118 yards and threw for 54 with a touchdown and two interceptions in the win for OHS. James Erickson ran for 47 yards and two scores while Lucas Weaver had 53 yards on the ground and another touchdown.
Grayson Brockington was Jervis’ favorite target, catching three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Corbin cash ran for 101 yards for the Sabers including the team’s only touchdown of the game. Dylan Easton threw for 149 yards with an interception and added 19 rushing yards. Nick Hartwell caught four passes for 65 yards.
Oneonta (2-2) will visit Owego Free Academy on Saturday while Sidney (2-2) will host Bainbridge-Guilford on Friday.
Lansing 21, Delhi 14 (Saturday)
Delhi fell to Lansing 21-14 on Saturday on a last-minute touchdown.
Zach Cornell hit Adam Cook for a 50-yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs a 14-13 lead in the fourth quarter. But Lansing ran the ball in from 10 yards out with a minute left to play to secure the win.
Cornell finished with 134 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the loss for the Bulldogs.
Ian Johnson and Cook ran for 42 and 28 yards, respectively while Cook added three catches for 67 yards. Rocco Schnabel had four catches for 64 yards including a 10-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Lucas Nealis came up with two interceptions on defense while Cook made a team-high 14 tackles. Cameron Thomson had nine tackles while Schnabel added eight.
Delhi (2-2) will visit Tioga on Friday.
Windsor 40, Walton 8 (Saturday)
A big third quarter sunk Walton in a 40-8 loss to Windsor on Saturday.
Windsor followed up a 14-0 first-half performance with a 20-point third quarter to put the game away.
Aiden Branigan scored the Warriors’ lone touchdown on a 17-yard run in the fourth quarter. Parker Cash had 120 yards on 15 carries while Darrin Walley added 37 yards on the ground.
Caleb Moren threw for 70 yards and was picked off three times while Landen Stanton had two catches for 30 yards. Eddie Salimbangon came up with an interception on defense.
Walton (1-3) will be at Oxford on Thursday.

The Delhi volleyball team remained perfect on the season (7-0) Monday with a three-set win over Sidney. The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-14, 25-23, 25-20.
Delhi’s top performers included Rebecca Verspoor (9 assists, 6 kills, 6 digs, 3 aces), Carly Guy (5 kills, 4 aces, 3 digs, 2 assists), Charlotte Menke (6 aces) and Giorgia Dewit (5 kills).
Leading Sidney were Bri Taylor (4 kills), Braylee Phelps (5 digs, 2 aces) and Madison Carmona (2 assists, 2 digs).
Delhi will host Bainbridge-Guilford on Tuesday while Sidney (3-6) will be at Greene on Wednesday.
Walton 3, Unatego 0 (Saturday)
Walton improved to 6-0 on Saturday with a straight-sets victory over Unatego. The Warriors won by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-14.
Leading the way for Walton were Lily Klinegardner (8 aces, 4 kills), Katelyn Gregory (7 aces, 5 kills, 5 digs), Olivia Barnes (4 kills), Olivia Bartlett (4 kills, 3 digs) and Chloe Edwards (16 assists).
Unatego’s top performers included Jayden Gore (4 blocks, 2 aces), Mallory Hafele (4 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces), Cassidy Barber (4 digs, 2 kills) and Nica Hulburt (5 digs). Unatego drops to 2-8.

CROSS COUNTRY
Several local cross country teams were in action both in and out of state last weekend.
Oneonta was in Rochester competing in the McQuaid Invitational. The OHS boys placed second overall out of 53 full teams and had five runners place in the top 50 individually in a field of more than 400.
Keyon Ziaie led the way with a time of 15:59 that was good for 11th overall. The Yellowjackets’ other top runners included Colin Fletcher-Foster (15th, 16:10), Gabriel Rissberger (18th, 16:13), Jackson Forbes (26th, 16:33) and Donovan Lema (49th, 17:11).
For the Oneonta girls, Sasha Sloth placed 30th at the EJ Herrmann Invitational in Utica with a time of 26:20. Delhi/South Kortright competed in the Ocean State Invitational in Warwick, Rhode Island over the weekend.
The girls team placed fourth among New York Class D squads while the boys finished 13th in the same category.
Aurelia Comer paced the girls with a time of 21:07 that was good for 29th overall in a massive field. Lilly McGonigal followed close behind with a time of 21:19 (33rd overall).
Other top runners for the DA/SK girls were Elsa Marigliano (22:57), Abi Tessier (23:16) and Olivia Kruppo (25:09).
The top boys runner for DA/SK was Latham Gielskie who placed 56th with a time of 17:39. Following him were teammates Nelson VanMaaren (18:09), Jaden Lewis (18:38) and Jason VanMaaren (20:02).
Unadilla Valley and Cooperstown were in Utica on Saturday for the EJ Herrmann Invitational.
UV’s Andrea Favinger placed fourth out of a field of 89 with a time of 21:40. Teammate Kathleen Pizzuto finished 43rd in 27:40.
Jake Favinger led the UV boys (31st, 19:26) while Dominic Berthel (88th, 23:43) also ran well.
The Hawkeye boys placed eighth out of 17 teams. Jonah Hitchcock led the way with a time of 19:21, good for 29th overall. Cooperstown’s other top boys were Owen Capozza Flannigan (36th, 19:41), Hu Agostino (54th, 21:24) and Brendan Heavner (58th, 21:35).
Nora Craig (15th, 23:33) and Olivia Temp (39th, 26:58) were the leading runners for the girls.
FIELD HOCKEY
Owego Free Academy 1, Walton 0 (Saturday)
The Walton field hockey team fell to Owego Free Academy 1-0 on Saturday in a Section IV Division II matchup.
Ashleigh Steele scored the game’s only goal in the third quarter for OFA. Walton’s Mackenzie Roach made two saves in the loss.
Walton (3-6) will host Whitney Point on Tuesday.
