DeSales Catholic School hosted “Read, Build and Play Day” last week, giving pre-school and kindergarten students a fun-filled range of activities that encourage building of critical thinking, fine motor and literacy skills. Each student who participated also received a gift bag of literacy activities to undertake at home.
Read, Build and Play Day was coordinated and conducted by the Niagara University Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement, funded by the Rotary Club of Lockport and sponsored by the Rotary Literacy Committee.
Assisting the students were Levesque Institute staff, Niagara University students, and Rotary Club of Lockport volunteers.
