CARROLLTON — The Thomas University Night Hawks track and team delivered an outstanding performance at the recent UWG Legends Invitational held in Carrollton on April 5-6.
This meet witnessed remarkable achievements from various athletes, including new school records and recognitions in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC).
One of the standout performers this past weekend was Sophia Alexander. She earned a new school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:10.89. She was also nominated as the SSAC female track athlete of the week with this performance.
On the men’s side, Michael Eady is consistently proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
Eady clinched the top spot in the 100 meters with an impressive time of 10.4 seconds, setting a new school record in the process. His remarkable performance also earned him the NAIA “A” Standard, further establishing his dominance in the sprint events. Eady also played a pivotal role in the 4×100 relay team’s victory, contributing to their impressive time of 41.15 seconds.
JT Thompson secured a first place spot in the 400m with a time of 48.52.
In the field, Tyrese Henderson showcased his talent securing a sixth place finish in triple jump with a mark of 13.66 meters. Henderson’s consistent performance will continue to make him a valuable asset in future competitions.
The UWG Legends Invitational provided an ideal platform for the Night Hawks to showcase their talent and determination. Thomas University is going to continue to show success in both track and field events.
