NICOLLET — Nicollet Public Schools has received a $32,300 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The district has an early childhood center with old playground equipment.
The federal funding will help replace the outdated equipment to make sure children have a safe space to play, according to a news release announcing the grant from U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith.
“With this federal funding, Nicollet Public Schools will be able to make needed replacements at the Early Childhood center playground so kids can keep having fun,” Klobuchar stated.
Smith added that everyone should have access to outdoor spaces and recreation. “This investment in Nicollet will replace outdated and aged playground equipment to ensure families and children have a new, safe place to play.”
