SARANAC — Northern Adirondack wrestlers recorded three pins Wednesday night and defeated defending Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champion Saranac, 37-27.
Dustin Labarge (145 pounds), Kyle Reif (152) and Trey Mcgee (190) won by fall for NAC.
Winning by decision for the Bobcats were Jackson LaBarge (101), Hayden Bartlemus (116), Reese Labarge (131) and Parker Manor (160). NAC won one match by forfeit.
Teegan Smith (108) and Gavin Morrow (124) recorded pins for the Spartans and Branigan Boulds (138) won by decision. Saranac won its other two matches by the forfeit route.
“There were some good exciting matches tonight,” Saranac coach Heath Smith said.
“The first exciting match of the night was a 116 between Hayden Bartlemus and Owen Stiles. They were tied late in the third period when a flurry of action took place and Bartlemus came out on top.
“The second exciting match was with Branigan Boulds and Owen Smith. Boulds won 2-0 with a takedown.”
Saranac will be wrestling next Tuesday against Peru in a match being held at Plattsburgh High School.
