NORTH MANKATO — The North Mankato City Council Monday night approved its share of funds for a major renovation of All Seasons Arena.
The city will pay $3.175 million toward the $13.8 million upgrade.
The city of Mankato has already approved spending nearly $8 million and Blue Earth County OK’d spending $833,550 as their share of the funding. Mankato Public Schools is also kicking in $1.5 million.
The local funding will be paid over a 15 year period.
Beyond the local governments, funding includes a $180,000 donation from the Mankato Area Hockey Association and $166,000 is coming from a “Mighty Ducks” grant from the state of Minnesota’s Amateur Sports Commission.
The upcoming 18-month reconstruction project will be conducted even as the two-rink facility remains open to youth hockey practices, high school games and figure skating events.
