One of the newest coffee bars in Dalton is a must for a visit. First of all, the owner and employees are some of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure to come in contact with. They will take care of you and make sure you have an excellent experience in their shop. The food and drinks are totally wonderful (I will get to that important part shortly), and the location is one of the best right in downtown on South Hamilton Street in Dalton. I’ve given you the best reasons to make your visit there soon.
The shop offers multiple delicious beverage selections. If iced is your choice, they have it. If beverages served hot are your preference, they have them. Teas (peppermint, earl gray, chamomile) are on the menu, too. They even offer a holiday drink menu for those seasonal favorites. And the yummy pastries and breakfast food items are great choices.
I selected a holiday drink: the iced gingerbread caramel macchiato. It was an excellent choice, too. The drink was iced cold, flavorful, and had a very powerful, rich taste. You knew at the first sip what flavors you were enjoying. No guessing. Some drinks make you wonder what syrup flavors are used, but not this one. It’s very good. Other holiday selections are peppermint bark mocha, Mexican hot chocolate, cinnamon roll latte, toasted marshmallow mocha and peppermint chai latte. Even more good choices.
I also selected a very delicious mixed berry smoothie, containing strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. It was one of the best beverages. It’s an organic, dairy-free glass of heaven. You can tell it’s fresh and uses no mixes. Other smoothies available are peach pear apricot and strawberry banana.
If your taste buds prefer traditional drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, regular hot chocolate and drip coffee, they are also on the menu. Tons of flavors of syrup can be added to your beverages, such as chocolate, hazelnut, mango, white mocha and many more. Sugar-free syrups available are vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Seasonal flavors are pumpkin spice, peppermint and gingerbread. Their best seller is the cinnamon roll latte, hot or iced, and can be topped with a hazelnut cold foam.
Now let’s talk about the food items that accompany the delicious drinks. Egg bites with bacon gouda and roasted pepper would be a perfect pairing for an early morning coffee drink to start your day off right.
To satisfy your sweet tooth they offer many fantastic choices. Some are a cream cheese Danish, a cherry-filled Danish, a chocolate orange loaf, muffins and more. I selected the cherry-filled Danish and the chocolate orange loaf. Both were heated to a warm, delightful temperature, which was perfect to my taste buds. I enjoyed each bite (yes, I enjoyed both pastries) with my flavorful beverages. It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon savoring good food and resting my mind after a hectic morning. We all need more time to relax and enjoy things that are important to us. Our lives, at times, are just too busy.
Lofi is the perfect location to relax. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. It’s also very calming and relaxing. The seating allows customers to enjoy private time at a table or counter, or enjoy time with friends in a comfy seating area. It’s a perfect place for students to study, or a great place to get that last-minute work accomplished for the office. The owner hopes to have live music soon and offer a place where people can come and share their talent of music with other customers.
The location has been open since October. They are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. They offer a 10% discount to active military, veterans and police officers. Outdoor seating is available when the weather permits. Check them out on social media to see what’s happening and the photos of the wonderful foods and beverages they offer.
I wondered where the name of the shop originated. The owner’s love for the music genre lo-fi inspired him to name the coffee bar. Lo-fi is short for low fidelity, and is a mix of jazz and hip-hop. Lo-fi music is less polished than high fidelity deliberately. You will hear lo-fi music playing in the coffee bar when you visit. It’s very relaxing and enjoyable and serves as a perfect background while enjoying a great beverage.
Be sure to visit this awesome location. You will really enjoy meeting the wonderful staff and trying some “made from the heart” drinks. Relax. Savor the moment. Listen to lo-fi music. You are so worth the visit.
Just a note to let you know this will be my last review for a while. I’m taking time after the holidays to recharge and relax. But when the time comes for me to venture out and discover another fantastic local spot, you will be the first to know.
