PORT HENRY — Moriah had three players hit in double figures Thursday night and held on for a 52-48 victory over AuSable Valley in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls’ basketball.
Emmy Nephew led the way with 15 points, while Hannah Gaddor and Maddie Eichen each added 13. Alexis Mascarenas was nearly a fourth Viking in double digits as she contributed nine.
Raven Sessoms tossed in a game-high 19 points for the Patriots, who held a 26-21 lead at the half. Reese Shambo added 15 points.
“It was a hard-fought game by both teams,” Moriah coach Gary Olcott said. “Neither team could get any separation.
“I’m very proud of how our young guards are maturing and making better in game decisions. Freshman Emmy Nephew played an exceptional game on the wing. I couldn’t have asked for more from my team and it was a good win heading into the holiday break.”

CHAMPLAIN — Bailee Lafountain and Desiree Dubois combined for 46 points in the Cougars’ win over the Hornets.
Lafountain finished with a game-high 27 points, including five three-pointers, and Dubois added 19.
Natalie Battinelli was the leading scorer for PHS with 13 points.
“We were led tonight by Bailee Lafountain and Desiree Dubois,” NCCS coach Robb Garrand said. “Beginning of the year or not, we have been very inconsistent with our play and have to work on making the necessary improvements. I have complete confidence the girls will work hard.
“Coach (Kelly) Weiss had her girls battling to the end and they made some nice entry passes into the post that we need to do a better job at defending.”

PERU — The Spartans connected on seven three-pointers on their way to their victory over the Nighthawks.
Brenna Ducatte tossed in a game-high 18 points to lead Saranac, while Molly Denis added 12 and Layla Pellerin 10. Those three players also had two three-pointers each.
Destiny Snider and Natalie Gushlaw-Mirville paced Peru with five points apiece.
“Saranac is a really tough, aggressive and disciplined team,” Peru coach Brittany Marshall said. “Their press caused a lot of turnovers, resulting in quick baskets for them.
“We struggled with making some open and easy inside baskets tonight. Our girls continued to work hard even with the deficit.”

PLATTSBURGH — Aiden Pearl tossed in a game-high 19 points and the Knights outlasted the Blue Bombers in MVAC play.
Oliver Hughes and Sam DeJordy added eight points each for Seton Catholic, which outscored Lake Placid, 20-14, over the final two quarters to emerge with the win.
Seb Cecunjanin was the lone Lake Placid player in double figures with 14.
“Both teams had a hard time scoring,” Seton Catholic coach Larry Converse said. “Both teams played hard on the defensive end.
“Lake Placid shot the ball well on three-pointers and we scored on the inside.”
