MOODY AIR FORCE BASE — Airmen from Moody Air Force Base are “deploying” across South Georgia and Florida as part of a readiness exercise through April 19.
Exercise Ready Tiger 24-1 tests the 23rd Wing’s ability to use decentralized command and control to complete work in separate locations where communications aren’t the best, according to a statement from the base.
Principles included in Ready Tiger 24-1 include integrated combat teams, forward air refueling and combat search and rescue.
During the exercise, there will be a potential for increased noise disturbance and the movement of people and vehicles, the base said.
“Exercise Ready Tiger serves as an opportunity for the wing to reinforce the importance of practicing how we play,” said Lt. Col. Quentin Rohlfs, 23rd Wing inspector general and exercise director. “As the landscape of modern warfare evolves, the future fight is undoubtedly changing. Team Moody Airmen must adapt to this shifting paradigm by embracing agility and mobility while maintaining effectiveness and lethality in their operations.”
In the leadup to Ready Tiger 24-1, senior leaders from the 23rd Wing hosted an expert from the China Aerospace Studies Institute at Moody.
“We want our airmen to care about the world, because we could be tasked to deploy anywhere in the world,” said Maj. Nicholas McCrabb, 23rd Wing director of intelligence.
