BASEBALL
Salem 11, Bishop Fenwick 8: Rocco Ryan’s RBI single in the top of the seventh broke an 8-8 tie and touched off a three run tally to help the Witches even their record at 10-10. Kevin Soto hit a pair of doubles for Salem, Shea Christel scored twice with two RBI, Jordan O’Malley had two hits and Riley Fenerty, Sandy Anderall and Corey Grimes all delivered RBI. Julian Ortiz struck out the side in the seventh to save it.
Fenwick (9-11) trailed 8-1 early but battled back thanks to John Horgan’s double and three RBI. Josh Scali, Andrew McKenzie, Chris D’Angelo and Ty Gendreau also drove in runs for the Crusaders.
SOFTBALL
Peabody 9, Archbishop Williams 0: Abby Bettencourt spun a 3-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and also had a home run among her four hits on the day as Peabody heads to the D1 playoffs at 17-3. Logan Lomasney homered for the third consecutive day while going 3-for-4 with three RBI, Kiley Doolin and Lizzy Bettencourt had two hits each and Jess Steed also knocked home a run.
Beverly 7, Essex Tech 4: Down by three in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Panthers (15-5) scored seven times to win their regular season finale. Meredith Johnson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI; Gabi Wickeri had a pair of doubles; and Elsa Reulet had a double and two RBI. Carly Jones (who went 1-for-2), Lila Pasquarello and Jane Foley were all defensive standouts in their Senior Game.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Swampscott 18, Gloucester 2: A dozen played netted goals for the Big Blue to wrap up the regular season with a home win. Avery Laundry and Mia Leone both had hat tricks and led the charge while Sophia Ciciotti had two with an assist, Chloe Puzzo had one with an assist, Coco Clopton had one with two assists, Sam Demady scored two and Cecilia Tripp, Abby Bragan, Sofia Robledo Puch and Victoria Pierro had one each. Mia Dahlman had a team-high four points on two goals and two assists and goalie Lilah Caplan was credited with 11 saves.
BOYS LACROSSE
Newburyport 12, Marblehead 3: Cam Waldman had two goals, James Bickell one and Will Sullivan added an assist for the Headers, who finished the regular season with a 14-4 mark.
