MANKATO — Minnesota State men’s hockey players Alex Tracy, Evan Murr and Rhett Pitlick each won CCHA season-long awards, the league announced Thursday.
Tracy won Goaltender of the Year, Murr won Defenseman of the Year, while Pitlick won Forward of the Year.
Tracy played in 25 conference games for MSU, going 17-5-3 with a 1.43 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage. He led the league in wins, goals-against average and save percentage in conference games and also leads Division I in all three of those categories. Tracy is a semifinalist for the Mike Richter Award.
Murr, a second-team All-CCHA pick last season, led CCHA defenders with 22 points in 26 conference games, with five goals and 17 assists. He has a +11 rating.
Pitlick, a senior who transferred from Minnesota, led the CCHA with 30 points (10-20—30) in 26 league games. He finished with +22 rating in conference games.
The Mavericks (25-8-3) host Bemidji State in the CCHA semifinal at 7:07 p.m. Saturday.
