MANKATO — The Mankato Area School Board will hold a public hearing Tuesday evening for its 2025-26 school year tax levy recommendation.
The hearing is during the School Board meeting, which starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Intergovernmental Center Mankato Room, 10 Civic Center Plaza.
A public comment period occurs after staff present the levy report, which will be available for those in attendance.
The levy is proposed at $36,565,577 and is a 0.86% decrease from last year.
Taxpayers living in a $300,000 home — the average in the district — are estimated to pay $1,065 a year if the board approves the amount.
Counties have mailed a notice of proposed property taxes to all property owners.
The board is to take final action at its Dec. 16 meeting.
