PLATTSBURGH — Focused on collecting blood and blood products to benefit North Country residents, the Adirondack Regional Blood Center team will conduct several blood drives open to the community in May.
The Blood Center is a program of the University of Vermont Health Network – Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
Here’s the May community blood drive schedule:
• Wednesday, May 1, Saranac Central High School, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Thursday, May 2, Franklin Academy, Malone, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Monday, May 6, Willsboro Fire Department, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• Wednesday, May 8, AuSable Valley Grange, 1749 Main St., Keeseville, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
• Thursday, May 9, Holy Name Church Hall, AuSable Forks, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Friday, May 10, Clinton County Advocacy and Resource Center, New York Road, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Monday, May 13, St. Lawrence County Human Services Center, Canton, noon to 3 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 14, Brushton-Moira American Legion, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Thursday, May 16, VFW Post 125 Plattsburgh, noon to 4 p.m.
• Friday, May 17, Franklin County Government Center, Malone, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Monday, May 20, Champlain EMS station, co-sponsored by Knights of Columbus, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• Wednesday, May 22, Cumberland 12 Cinemas, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
• Thursday, May 23, CVPH Auditoriums B & C, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Tuesday, May 28, Malone Callfiremen, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Blood collected at these drives and at the Donor Center, located at 85 Plaza Blvd., stays in the North Country, helping thousands of people in this region.
The Donor Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm and walk-ins are always welcome.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years-old (16 years-old with written parental/guardian consent), in generally good health and weigh at least 110 lbs.
A screening questionnaire addressing personal medical, social and travel history is completed prior to donating and a donor card or another form of identification is also required.
Donors must wait 56 days between donations.
