KEYSER, W.Va. — Potomac Valley Hospital’s fundraiser held Nov. 9 at Brookedale Farms raised over $35,000 on behalf of the hospital’s cancer and infusion center.
The PVH Crossland Cancer Center benefited from the evening event, which was held to help raise funds to continue the growth of the center and ensure patients have the means to address the numerous unexpected expenses that often follow a cancer diagnosis.
Thanks to a robust response from the business community, the first ever fundraiser held by Mineral County’s critical access hospital far exceeded expectations.
“We were thrilled with both the turnout at the event itself and with the financial support provided by the businesses in our community,” said Mark Boucot, president and CEO of Potomac Valley Hospital and Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland. “We can’t thank the people of Mineral County and the surrounding communities enough for their support. I especially want to thank Ed Crossland and the Crossland family; they have played an important role in supporting our cancer center and ensuring our patients have what they need. We are blessed to have such a caring community.”
Revenue from the event stemmed from ticket sales as well as business sponsorships, a donation wall at the event and a silent auction of items donated by area retailers that attendees could bid on throughout the evening.
Major sponsors of the event included Masterpiece Genetics, Grand Sponsor; R.H. Lapp Mechanical Contractors, Dinner Sponsor; The Belt Group, Entertainment Sponsor; First United Bank & Trust, Bar Sponsor; Stambaugh Builders, Photobooth Sponsor; and the O’Bryan Family, Star Sponsor.
The Crossland Cancer Center opened its doors in 2022. Since it began operations, the center has seen over 2,000 individual patient visits.
