The members of Fairfield Glade Bass Club had their tournaments 3 and 4 at the same time over the last two weeks.
James Lovelace, tournament director of the club, explained members break into two groups when fishing the smaller lakes, allowing them to spread out over both lakes.
Tournament 3 was fished on Lake Canterbury; Tournament 4 took place on Lake Glastowbury.
“We each fish one lake then the other two weeks later to complete in both tournaments,” Lovelace said. “This is a new format for the members and took some getting use to. It helps the lakes and the fish by spreading it out over two weekends. This gives the fish time to settle down before we go back and fish again.”
Winning first place in Tournament 3 on Lake Canterbury were Greg Novak and Lester Stone with 11.75 pounds.
Second place went to Ken Marchand and Brian Morris with 9.82 pounds; and taking home third place were Frank Huff and Brent Lee with 9.19 pounds.
Lee also hooked the Big Fish at 4.89 pounds.
Jim Anderson and Colby Ardis won first place with 6.84 pounds in Tournament 4 on Lake Glastowbury.
Second place went to Lovelace and Ed Snell with 6 pounds; and reeling in third place were Chris Carter and Bill Atchison with 5.87 pounds.
Snell caught the Big Bass at 3.12 pounds.
The Fairfield Glade Bass Club meets at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of the month at Fairfield Glade Community Church on Snead Dr.
“We would like for anyone interested in becoming a member to join us at the meeting,” Lovelace said. “Even if you don’t own a boat, we can provide you with a partner who does.”
