PLATTSBURGH — Paul D. Lamoy has been appointed to the Clinton County Legislature’s Area 8 seat, which covers parts of the City and Town of Plattsburgh.
Lamoy was appointed at the legislature’s first meeting of the year Wednesday. The seat was made vacant after former Area 8 Legislator Wendell Hughes took office as mayor of the City of Plattsburgh Jan. 2.
Lamoy, a Democrat, is a former Town of Plattsburgh council member and will fill the seat for the remainder of 2025. An election will be held for a full term for the seat in November.
Legislature Chairman Mark Henry previously said Lamoy agreed to fill the seat this year and not seek election in November.
