Cumberland Children’s Center — House of Hope, founded in June 2004, provides a temporary safe haven for Cumberland County children of abuse until placement in foster care.
Due to a sudden influx of children through the Department of Children’s Services in January 2023, the home is now caring for children 24/7. Because of this change, many renovations have taken place and more are needed within the home so the organization may adequately care for the individual needs of these youth.
Because of Kerry Ingredients’ generous donation, volunteers will be able to finish the second bathroom, relocate the laundry room and pantry, and add a safety fence in the yard around the home. This will also allow House of Hope to renovate two offices, with one being an extra bedroom for toddlers and infants, and a quiet room for older youth for counseling and schoolwork.
Because of Kerry, the House of Hope will be more comfortable and will allow them to utilize the space more efficiently as they continue to offer a safe and loving environment for children suffering from abuse.
