Coahulla Creek High School’s swim team took first in combined team results at a meet hosted by Darlington in Rome on Thursday.
The Lady Colts finished first out of seven schools on the girls side, while the boys came in second to host Darlington. The 163 combined points were enough to give Creek the overall team win, with Darlington coming right behind at 144.
Southeast Whitfield also competed in the field made up mostly of Floyd County teams, aside from Creek and Southeast. The Southeast girls finished third and the boys fifth, leaving the Raiders with a fourth-place finish in the overall standings.
Cass was third in overall standings. Armuchee was fifth, Model was sixth, Pepperell was seventh and Coosa was eighth.
For Coahulla Creek, the girls 200-yard medley relay team of Anna-Kate Gordon, Teyah Riegel, Hope Miller and Ella Foster took first place, as did the 400-yard freestyle relay team, which includes Riegel, Miller, Foster and Juilina Teasley.
Riegel took first place in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard breaststroke, while Miller was first in 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle.
On the boys side, Jonah Ogas grabbed first place in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke.
For Southeast, the girls 200-yard freestyle relay squad (Crystal Melendez, Andrea Rojas, Kamie Babb and Kathy Mejia) finished second, while Mejia also took second in the girls 100-yard freestyle. Jake Hastey was third in both the boys 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
