Christian Heritage 77, White County 44
White County scored the first four points in a first-round game against Christian Heritage in the Lions’ Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic on Thursday night.
Then, Christian Heritage quickly seized control.
The Lions immediately responded with a 15-0 run — including two 3-pointers apiece from Cash Hare and Jax Abernathy — and never relinquished the big lead, cruising to a 77-44 victory to move on to the tournament’s semifinals tonight.
Christian Heritage led 17-7 after the first quarter, then opened the second on another scoring spurt, this one a 9-0 stretch. The Lions grew the lead to 44-17 at halftime, began emptying the bench in the third quarter and melted the shortened clock in the fourth.
Abernathy scored 19 points and had five assists. Hare had 17 points and seven rebounds. Dontae Crowder and Benji Michmerhuizen each had 10 points, and Crowder added five steals.
Murray County 82, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 39
Murray County (7-4) trounced Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (3-9) 82-39 Wednesday.
Braxton Vineyard led the Indians with 23 points, while Brady Stainton and Joseph Garland each had 10.
The blowout win came after Murray defeated LFO by just three points earlier this month.
Murray hosts Ringgold today at 4:30.
Westlake 64, Dalton 54
Dalton (3-8) fell 64-54 to Westlake (5-4) in its opening round game of the Campbell Holiday Classic in Smyrna Thursday.
Eli Burt scored 12, and Manuel Hurtado had 11 for Dalton. Jermichael Craft and Drew Snyder each had nine.
The Catamounts play today at 11:30 a.m. against Mill Creek in the event.

Dalton 60, Alexander 19
Dalton (6-5) hammered Alexander (7-3) 60-19 Thursday at the Campbell Holiday Classic at Campbell High in Smyrna.
The Lady Catamounts hopped out to a 14-4 lead after the first and a 32-13 advantage at halftime, then allowed just six total points in the second half as they cruised to a win. Alexander didn’t put in a single point in the fourth quarter.
Gracie Ridley led the way for Dalton with 18 points, six rebounds and seven steals. Kemara Washington had 12 points, nine rebounds and six steals, while Emma Hefner had 12 points, four boards and also swiped five steals. Jolie Wingfield put in nine points.
Dalton will play today in the second round of the tournament.
Christian Heritage 53, King’s Ridge Christian 38
Christian Heritage (8-5) snapped a three-game skid when it took care of King’s Ridge Christian (1-5) 53-38 Thursday night as a part of the Christian Heritage Chick-fil-A Christmas Classic at the school.
The Lady Lions built a lead that survived a small rally from King’s Ridge in the fourth quarter with plenty of room to spare.
Christian Heritage moved on to the second round of the tournament today at 4 p.m.
