Happy New Year! As we begin 2025, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Lewiston Town Clerk. This past October, Supervisor Steve Broderick and the Town Board unanimously appointed me Town Clerk and I am grateful for their support as I take on this role. I appreciate the confidence they have in my ability to manage this important position in our great community. Since then, I have been working hard every day to fulfill the new responsibilities and serve our residents that visit town hall.
For the past nine years, I have worked in the supervisor’s office as the Confidential Secretary, handling all our employees and retirees needs as well as interacting with residents who call or come into his office. I also had the privilege to work closely with our grant writer in this position on a few grants the town received. Two of these grants were to digitize the town’s permanent records, this reduces the risk of losing these records, increases efficiency in record searches and creates additional storage space.
Another grant that I have had the opportunity to work on was from the NYS Dept. of Conservation to assist the town with the purchase of the Stonehaven Preserve. This was a great accomplishment that Supervisor Broderick was able to procure funds for the town to make this purchase. Stonehaven is a beautiful addition to the town’s park system, and I have been able to enjoy taking walks through the trails. I hope to continue working with the supervisor, Town Board and other departments to assist in procuring funding that may be available to make improvements to our town services.
In my tenure with the town, I have worked with various departments that service our residents, so I am familiar with many of the daily operations. When other departments have implemented new software, including the Water Dept. and Clerks Office, I have assisted them with the implementation, training and troubleshooting.
Prior to joining the town, I worked in human resources at Niagara University for 12 years as the administrative assistant and then the Human Resource Information Specialist. While working at Niagara, I was also able to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Information Sciences.
The beautiful and historic community of Lewiston is a place that I am proud to call home. I have lived in Lewiston for the past 30 years with my husband, Dave and our two sons, Eric and Josh.
Both our sons graduated from Lewiston-Porter and went on to further their education at Niagara University and St. Bonaventure respectively. Lewiston has always been a part of my life since my parents and grandparents grew up in Lewiston. I have had the pleasure of spending a lot of time here growing up. The Town and Village are very important to me, and I will work hard to continue supporting the community and local businesses.
I believe with my years of experience and dedication; I possess the skills to be your next Town Clerk and I’ll be there for you. I look forward to coming out into the community and talking with you about what we can do to serve you better. I hope to have your support in the Primary Election in June.
