VALDOSTA — Georgia Christian School has been awarded a grant by Exxon/Mobil from their Educational Alliance program. The company generally chooses schools in an area where they have Exxon/Mobil Stores. The grant for $500 can be used in any way Georgia Christian sees fit in the STEM academic area (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, English, History).
“ExxonMobil is fueling young minds and helping create a-ha moments through the Educational Alliance,” the company said in a press release. “Over $40 million has been committed since the program’s inception, which funds math and science programs at schools in need. It’s part of our ongoing effort to support science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education within the communities we serve.”
The grant check was presented to GCS President Dr. Brad Lawson by Leanne Johnson of The Hinton Group after the school’s joint chapel service on Thursday, May 9.
