BOYDS — Frostburg State struck first in the ninth minute, but Indiana (Pennsylvania) scored two unanswered goals to down the Bobcats, 2-1, on Saturday.
The game was part of the D2 in the DMV Showcase at MD Soccerplex in Boyds.
Morgan Mrizek fed Jayme Sooy for a goal 8:06 into the action. IUP’s Hannah Scardina leveled the tally with an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute, and Emily Mannion gave the team the lead in the 41st minute.
Frostburg had a 15-10 edge in shots, 9-6 in shots on goals and 10-2 in corner kicks, but it came up short on the scoreborad.
Allegany graduate Katie Sterne made four stops in goal for the Bobcats, and Makenna Yarrow had eight saves for Indiana.
Frostburg (1-1) is at Salem, West Virginia, on Saturday at 4 p.m.
