FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Frankfort High’s cross country program hosted the 20th annual Jingle Run 5K on Saturday at Fort Ashby Primary School.
The day was chilly in the mid-20’s but no wind and sunny conditions provided a great day to run.
Just under one hundred participants came out to brave the cold temps and enjoy and run on the friendly road course in Fort Ashby.
Garrett Ferguson, a Frankfort graduate who is now a sophomore on Marshall University’s cross country and track teams, won the race with a time of 15:38.
Frankfort’s Addison Tharp was the overall female winner in a time of 20:14.
Andrew Ferguson was the male masters winner in a time of 18:50 and Michelle Sharp was the female masters winner in a time of 26:04.
The masters race featured runners ages 40 to 49 in the women’s race and ages 50 to 59 in the men’s race.
Bowen Whitaker, an eight-year-old from Fort Ashby, West Virginia won the kids one mile race with a time of 8:06:6.
Brian Raines from Wiley Ford, West Virginia won the two mile walk with a time of 32:41:0.
