WILLIAMSPORT — Fort Hill used a strong third quarter to defeat Williamsport, 46-44, in the championship of the Williamsport Holiday Tournament on Friday.
The Sentinels (4-1) advanced to the finals by beating Century, 51-38, in the semifinals.
Aubry Spangler equalled a game-high with 13 points in the title bout to pace Fort Hill, which overcame a 15-11 deficit after a quarter and 27-20 hole at the half to lead 36-35 entering the fourth.
Addison Furstenberg finished with nine points, and Caniyah Plummer added seven for the Sentinels.
Arisa Hardy and Emerson Shank led Williamsport (3-2) with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
In the semifinals, Fort Hill dominated the middle two quarters 23-9 to take down Century.
Scoring in double figures for Fort Hill were Plummer (12) and Spangler (12). Lindsay Fleming and Furstenberg scored eight each.
Tanner Dorsey finished with 10 for Century.
Allegany 60 Md. School for Deaf 18
HANCOCK — Avery Miller just missed a triple double, and Allegany rolled to a win over the Maryland School for the Deaf in the Hancock Holiday Tournament.
Allegany (5-1) faces South Hagerstown on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Day 2 of the tourney.
The Campers held leads of 20-5, 42-9 and 51-14 following the first three quarters.
Miller finished with 24 points, 10 steals, nine rebounds and four assists for the Campers. Ella Shade joined the Penn State track signee in double figures with 11 points, and Myia Miller added six points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
