The Lockport High School Athletic Hall of Fame is set to add eight more greats to its books.
Eight new members will join the Hall of Fame, headlined by former NFL player David Fluellen. The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m., Sept. 13, at Lockport Town and Country Club.
Tickets are $35 and may be purchased at the Lockport High School Athletic Office and the Community Federal Credit Union, at 360 South Transit Road,
Bridget Burke, Class of 2007
Burke earned 11 varsity letters despite missing two seasons due to injuries. She was a four-time All-Niagara Frontier League basketball player, twice getting first-team honors.
As a senior, Burke was the NFL Player of the Year, a second-team All-Western New York pick and ninth-team all-state. Burke finished her career with 950 points and 559 rebounds in 65 games.
Also a standout volleyball player, Burke was first-team All-NFL and second-team All-Western New York as a senior. She was the outstanding female athlete for Lockport and the Police Athletic League Athlete of the Year in 2007.
Burke was inducted into the Daemen Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011 after scoring 1,403 points and grabbing 801 rebounds during her college career.
Dan DiNardo, Class of 2001
More than two decades have passed, but DiNardo still holds Lockport records for career passing attempts (350), completions (154) and yards (2,452). He also holds single-season records for attempts (210), completions (92) and yards (1,369).
DiNardo was also a four-year starter in baseball, earning first-team All-NFL honors in 2000 and 2001. He logged a 9-1 record with 96 strikeouts over 61 innings during his final two years, going 5-0 as a senior with 64 strikeouts.
He was voted Lockport’s top male athlete in 2001.
Michael Feeney, Class of 2012
A six-year letterwinner and three-time captain of the wrestling team, Feeney still ranks sixth all-time with 160 wins. He was a five-time All-NFL wrestler, a three-time Section VI finalist and two-time sectional champion.
Feeney also earned All-NFL honors three times in cross country, winning the league championship meet in 2011 and placed sixth at the sectional meet.
A four-time letterwinner in track and field, Feeney won NFL championships in the 800 meters, 1,600, 4×400 and 4×800 relays.
He was the school’s top male athlete in 2012.
David Fluellen, Class of 2010
Fluellen still remains Lockport’s all-time leading rusher with 4,274 yards. He ran for 1,638 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior to earn Class AA Co-Player of the Year, first-team All-Western New York and first-team all-state.
As a junior, Fluellen ran for 1,354 yards and 16 touchdowns. He earned third-team All-Western New York and fourth-team all-state accolades.
He was a finalist for state player of the year and the No. 24 all-purpose back in the country by Rivals.com. Fluellen played collegiately for Toledo, running for 2,215 yards and 18 touchdowns over three seasons and was inducted into the school’s hall of fame.
Fluellen played for the Tennessee Titans for four seasons.
Dan Gately, Class of 1976
Gately earned three varsity letters in soccer and was a first-team All-NFL pick. He co-captained the 1976 NFL championship team, which won super sectionals, with Gately scoring the first sectional goal in Lockport history.
He also won two letters in wrestling, becoming the NFL champion at 169 pounds in 1976. He was the school’s top male athlete the same year.
Erin Miller Maciejewski, Class of 2009
Maciejewski won four varsity letters in volleyball, serving as the team captain in 2008 and was honorable mention All-Western New York.
She won All-American accolades in the shot put at the New Balance High School Indoor Nationals and was second at the outdoor state championships. She recorded five top-five finishes at states and six podiums in the shot put and discus.
Maciejewski was a five-time NFL champion in track and field and a three-time first-team All-NFL pick. She was the school’s top female athlete in 2009.
Jordan Spark Librera, Class of 2003
Spark was a five-time letterwinner in swimming, leading the Lions to NFL championships in 2001 and 2002. She won NFL championships in the 50-yard freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay in 2002.
Spark was an All-American in 2002, placing second at states in the 200 freestyle relay and was third in the state in the 50 freestyle in 2001. She was the school’s top female athlete in 2003.
Robert “Boober” Johnston Award: Jim Slowey
An award given annually to a person who has selflessly and significantly given to Lockport Athletics, Slowey has volunteered as a broadcaster for LCTV for 35 years and 19 sports.
Slowey is the founder of the Lockport Soccer Club and served as president for 29 years. He also co-founded the Kenan Soccer League, while serving as president and chairman of the board for Lockport Little League.
