KLONDIKE — A fire Monday morning damaged the exterior of a mobile home on Hersick Road near Klondike, the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal said.
The fire, reported to the Allegany County 911 Communications Center by a passerby at 9:11 a.m., was caused by a faulty extension cord that ignited vinyl skirting on the structure, investigators said.
The fire caused about $10,000 damage. There were no injuries.
Firefighters from Midland and mutual aid companies extinguished in the flames in about 10 minutes.
