UFC 291 will get underway on Saturday, and the main card features one of the most feared MMA fighters on the planet in Dustin Poirier.
Poirier is set to take on Justin Gaethje for the currently vacant BMF title, which will be the second time that these two UFC lightweight stars will have faced each other in the Octagon. The first match saw Poirier triumph with a fourth round TKO victory, and he’s favored to win again according to the oddsmakers at Caesars Sportsbook.
Poirier is currently a -150 favorite, but Gaethje isn’t far behind at +125 in what’s expected to be a close fight that could top the excitement of their first go-round back in 2018. Gaethje is a worthy foe with a 24-4 career record, but it’s hard to bet against Poirier (29-7) considering that he’s won four of his last five fights.
The fight will take place Saturday, July 29 in Salt Lake City, UT and is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on ESPN Plus/Pay Per View following the series of undercard matches.
