MANKATO — A male driver faces potential charges of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, driving while under the influence and driving after revocation after his car ended up in a creek following a vehicle pursuit Saturday evening, according to Mankato Public Safety.
The pursuit started around 7:40 p.m. at the 400 block of North 4th Street, a news release said.
According to the release, the vehicle turned and went eastbound on Madison Avenue before turning northbound on North 5th Street.
The driver went over an embankment and into the creek/water retention pond when he reached the dead end in the 1600 block of North 5th Street.
The city said the male driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.
He was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato by Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service with minor injuries.
