Danville Noon Rotary welcomed State Senator Paul Faraci to their most recent meeting. The group learned about his journey from small business owner to the State Senate 52nd District. He has been honored to continue the work of Senator Mike Frerichs and the late Senator Scott Bennett.
Sen. Faraci noted that Bennett leaves quite a legacy, and being appointed to succeed him was a great honor, according to a news release. “Going into his second year in legislature, he noted that the total number of bills introduced was 1,000 more than last year. He is an advocate for leveraging federal dollars for those who have disabilities. He strongly supports veterans and first responders by working to provide greater access to mental health resources. He spoke of improving access to education, challenges with immigration, wind and solar legislation and that we are moving into leaner times when it comes to additional grants.”
The group appreciated the time Sen. Faraci spent answering questions.
The Noon Rotary also recognized Dr. Alice Marie Jacobs, a Rotarian since 1994, for her dedication and service to the community. Dr. Jacobs will be moving out of state to begin a new chapter in her much deserved retirement.
Danville Noon Rotary’s will not be meeting on Monday, Sept. 2, due to Labor Day.
