Iris are usually spring flowers — aren’t they? This one on Phipps Road was sent in by Frank Miller last week. While it’s an unusual sight, fall bloomers aren’t apparently unheard of — Googling “iris blooming in fall” turned up many websites confirming the perennials can show off their vibrant purple faces during autumn months. It could be that’s what happened here … or maybe the mild temperatures we had until late last week fooled Mother Nature into believing it’s spring.
