Coming Home with Sierra Hull and Friends, a concert extravaganza featuring the Upper Cumberland native known as one of Nashville’s top mandolin players, will be from 1-8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.
The concert will be at The Farm at 7125 Bolestown Rd., Alpine, TN. Tickets, including late-night VIP tickets, are available on eventbrite.com.
Hull, a two-time Grammy Award-nominated artist and songwriter. Recognized for both her most recent projects, 25 Trips (2020) and Weighted Mind (2016), she is also the six-time recipient of IBMA’s Mandolin Player of the Year, the first woman to ever receive this distinction.
She has graced the country’s most iconic stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, and the White House.
Originally hailing from Byrdstown in Pickett County, Hull’s sound is rooted in bluegrass. Her career has taken her all around the world.
Organizers of this event said it has been at least 15 years since Hull has played at a festival near her hometown.
“We are excited to have Sierra Coming Home, and she is bringing some friends with her,” said Wendy DeVries, who owns The Farm venue with husband Richardd and Randy and Sandy Campbell. “It is sure to be a great day.”
Special guests who will also perform include Dan Tyminski, Jake Hoot, Lindsay Lou and Gabe Lee. More guest performers will also be announced at a later date.
“I’ve been a huge Dan fan since I first got into music,” Hull said. “From his time with Lonesome River Band to being a longtime member of Alison Krauss & Union Station to his amazing solo career, he’s long been a hero and someone I’m so grateful to call a friend.”
Hoot, a country singer and season 17 winner of NBC’s “The Voice”, has strong roots in the Upper Cumberland.
“Both Lindsay Lou and Gabe Lee are two of my favorites who I’ve been lucky enough to have open recent tours for me and the band,” Hull said. “Lindsay is one of my favorite voices of this generation, and Gabe is an incredible songwriter and storyteller who I’ve recently become a big fan of.”
