— First Christian Church, a nondenominational New Testament church associated with the Restoration Movement, is working to add a Spanish-speaking worship service for its Hispanic neighbors. — Five Springs Methodist Church at 2823 Five Springs Road in Dalton has a community food pantry on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome.
— Spatial Effects will perform at Five Springs Methodist Church on Sunday, Oct. 6. The free event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the public is invited. Spatial Effects is made up of Earl Brackin (mandolin and vocals), Tom Brown (banjo and harmonica), David Crawford (guitar and vocals), Phil Paris (bass and vocals) and Tim Witt (dobro and bass). The group has performed at numerous venues throughout the South, including Chattanooga’s Riverbend Festival. The band has also opened for several national touring bands, including the Claire Lynch Band, the Becky Buller Band and Goose Creek Symphony. — Riverbend Church of Christ in Dalton opens a benevolent house each Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for area residents in need. People can choose from a variety of clothing, shoes, household items and more at no charge. The ministry is in the white house beside the church building at 2218 S. Riverbend Road.
— Valley Brook Church of God has a Fire Service with guest speaker Pastor Jeanie Herd-Brown from Wheeler Addition Church of God in Pikeville, Tennessee, on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome. The church is at 1474 Mineral Springs Road in Dalton. A love offering is welcome.
